Holiday Card Class by Wendy Malichio
Creating special holiday cards is something scrapbookers always want to do but usually don't do because of time.  It's the busy holiday season and with so many other things going on, who has time to make up 100 hand-crafted cards?  Of course family and friends actually come to expect that beautiful card from you and you certainly don't want to let them down.  This class will show you how to create three very easy to reproduce, yet very detailed, holiday cards.  AND....as a special class bonus we will also create some beautiful holiday gift tags!

My Acrylic Album Class

I am also doing a holiday card class next month as well - the cards will be posted very soon, they will all be very easy to reproduce, saving lots of time!

New Fall Class!

I'm super excited to be able to teach this class!  My local scrapbook store was just sold and bought by a lovely lady (which I'm so thankful for!!  Most just close up and that's it....but we still have our awesome store!)  I'll be teaching an acrylic album class using fall colors.  The general design and color scheme is pretty general so this album can easily be converted into any theme.  I have to warn you the photos are not that great...I was so rushed and the sun was so harsh, but you'll get the idea.  I hope you like it!  For more details and class info/time please visit www.eycrafts.com.

Father's Day Class - Fiber Scraps Tag Book

Good Friday evening.  I haven't posted in a few days, so sorry!  I've been a busy lady though, which is a good thing, really.  I have a fun new class coming up too, the best part of this class is that we'll have several papers to choose from so you really make this project your own.  The class sample you see here uses the fun Fiber Scraps papers, but the class itself focuses on the awesome Fiber Scraps walnut ink Tintz.  If you haven't used Tintz you do not know what you are missing!  They are so much fun, a true staple product. 

This little tag booklet will really make any guy smile, I promise!  It would also be a perfect little birthday gift or a "just because" gift, but the best part - it has these little pockets that journal tags slip into, so if you are making this from the kids they can have a very special part in wishing dad a Happy Father's Day -they have a special tag to write their own message on....a really fun project!  Hope to see you there!

Off to Teach Tonight!

Yeah, I'll be teaching a fun class tonight and I can't wait to get out!  I always have such a great time when I head down to the store, Express Yourself,  it's a super fun place just to hang and chat with other scrappers, honestly I don't ever get to do that....online is fun but it's different.  I'm just really looking forward to tonight.  Here is a peek at what we'll be creating - I believe I am going to offer another class in May for this project too because I had more requests but the date just wasn't good....and.....when you take my classes I always have lots of freebies to hand out! 

On another note....I got to play a bit today, had some Paper House projects to do.  One was a really cute pail that I'm going to recreate and then maybe I'll try and open up a little shop and sell some.  I would love to personalize them, use lots of fun goodies, etc., etc. - I'm going to go back to my "secret spot" as I say to my daughter and pick up a bunch of the pails and just go to town.  I'll let you know how I make out and if I'm going to go forward with this little idea......here is the one I created for Paper House, it's so darn cute in real life, pretty large too, it measures about 13 inches high!

The other projects will be posted on the Paper House Blog if you are interested in seeing them.  Have a super scrappy night, I know I will!

Ribbon Fun Class Sneak Peek!

Well, it's actually more than just a peek, I cheated and snapped most of the album.  I'm so excited about this class!  I used the new Basic Grey Phoebe papers and new chipboard and rub-ons....plus, lots and lots of ribbon!  The cover and back are the new extra large chipboard accents from Making Memories (so cool!)  Each page has a fun, creative way to use ribbon, plus we'll go over lots of other "new and trendy" ways to use ribbon.  I'll be teaching this class at Express Yourself in Bethel on April 26th from 7-9.  We may do an additional class in May too if needed.  Here is the album and another peek at just some of the ribbon techniques we'll be covering.  To sign up for the class or for more details please email me or visit Express Yourself.  Hope to see you there!

Ohhhh...and I'll be hanging out at Express Yourself on National Scrapbook Day!  I'll be doing a fun Paper House sponsored make and take.   We'll be doing the awesome altered Impressions clipboard we did at CHA, they really give away a lot of goodies in the kit too so if you are in the area on NSD be sure to stop by and make one!  Here's another peek at the clipboards.

Ribbon Fun! New Class

Who doesn't love ribbon?  I now believe it's one of those staple items that will never, ever be out of style.  I had fun Saturday night doing a little demo at my local scrapbook store, we played with lots of ribbon and I am happy to report that I shared new ideas with many of the scrappers (that's always my goal when I teach is that hopefully everyone will walk away with at least one new idea, more if I'm lucky).  I am going to offer a new ribbon class with a super cute project soon, I'll be sure to share a little peek of that when it's complete.  For now, here are just a few of the ideas we touched on, all of these will be covered plus a few more in my new ribbon class "Ribbon Fun" which will be happening this spring.  I'll post dates and the sample project by the end of the week.  I also am working on a couple other new and super fun class ideas for this summer, if you are in the CT or NY area please be sure to check back soon for details!

Class Layout

This is my sample/suggestion layout for my new class "Technique Heaven" I will be teaching this fall (I'm still taking sign ups too so if you are interested please let your local scrapbook store owner know about it!)  We will cover five "hot" techniques in this class and then use the goodies we create on a layout.  The techniques are:

1.  Hand Stitching

2.  Doodling

3. Hand Cutting (patterned paper and titles)

4.  4 x 6 photos

5. Self Portraits (each student will be able to take their own photo and I will print it out so they can use it on their page)

I'm sure I'll be seeing a lot of amazing "All About Me" type pages from creative scrappers! I'm Teaching Again!

I'm super excited to be able to teach again!  I loved it when I taught about a year or so ago but the store, like many others, had to close.  I've missed the students, the interaction, the laughing and of course the scrapping.  I've taught at CK Conventions in between but it's just not the same as a local, up-close-and-personal setting.  The first class I will offer for the fall season is called "Technique Heaven", my ad is below.  If you would like to book a class with me please contact me at Lamram4@yahoo.com for all the fun details!

Technique Heaven - learn five of today's hottest trends and techniques in this fun, fast, action filled class that everyone (from newbies to advanced scrappers) will love!

Bio for Wendy Malichio

Hi!  My name is Wendy Malichio.  I live in a very small town in

Connecticut

and have my entire life.  I’ve been married to a wonderful man named Tony for a little over twelve years and we have two great children, Lacee and Richard. 

I started to scrapbook in the summer of 2000 because every time I went through old photos with my mother we never knew the “who, what, where, when and why” of the photo.  It was very frustrating!  Once I started scrapbooking I knew I had found my “thing”.  I have always loved crafts, but this was even more enjoyable for me.  I try to scrap at least once a day, while the kids are in school I do my scrapping “work” and then usually in the evening when we are all settling down I’ll try to do a layout for my own albums.  Along with creating layouts, I love to create cards and all sorts of paper crafts. 

I’ve had hundreds of publications and my work has appeared in the following publications:  Creating Keepsakes, Memory Makers, Paper Kuts, Scrapbook Trends, Legacy, Scrapbook Premier/Brainiac Series, Scrapbook Retailer, Paper Crafts, Cards Magazine, Simple Scrapbooks, Leisure Arts (NanC and Co.), Correspondence Art Magazine, My Daughter’s Wish Splendor Idea Book, Cantata Books, My Life in a Scrapbook and Scrapbooking Magazine.com and of course a few other fun publications here and there such as Michael’s Arts and Crafts, Hobby Lobby and even AC Moore video productions.  I’ve been a part of many special projects and am always looking for something new and exciting to work on! 

I am currently on the Paper House Productions, CreativeXpress, and Fiber Scraps design teams and I teach for Making Memories and I do freelance work for Design Originals.  I was one of the grand prize winners of the NanC and Co./Leisure Arts JoAnn Scrap Essentials contest and I have also been lucky enough to win several layout contests.  I’ve been a guest designer for several popular online sites I am always looking for fun opportunities so please feel free to contact me!
